2011 was the 65th anniversary of the Los Patronas Jewel Ball, considered the biggest, most exclusive annual social event in America’s Finest City. Liquid Blue was chosen for this “Sapphire” anniversary and the band received rave reviews, being cited as the best band the event has had in over 13 years. It was the debut for new BlueGirl Jenny Nowinski, shown above, right.
Liquid Blue featured the expanded group including five BlueGirls and the BlueBrass horn section. The event, which is typically scheduled to conclude at 1AM, normally empties out at about midnight. In this case, the majority of the crowd was still parting and dancing at 1:00.
