The Unisong International Songwriting Contest has announced the winners for 2005 and “If You Gotta Ask” made Top 20 finalist list in the Social/Political category.

Wisdom Chain, the ‘hidden track’ from Supernova, has been selected as Track of the Week from May 8th to the 15th. This is the 15th song from Supernova to win an award (out of 15). Wisdom Chain was a featured track on the PCT Music release of Supernova but tucked away as a hidden track on the original release.
Making Up finished 2nd among almost 500 entries in the first ever Peacedriven songwriting contest. From the Peacedriven website: “Other leading finalists included the Grammy-nominated Nadirah Shakoor, former lead singer of the hip-hop group Arrested Development. Her song “Break Away” encourages an end to child abuse. Award-winning California pop group Liquid Blue was also a standout with its song “Making Up” urging an end to global conflicts like Israel and Palestine.”
The 13th Billboard World Song Contest has selected four songs from Liquid Blue’s Supernova LP for honorable mention. The songs chosen are “If You Gotta Ask”, “So Close To Heaven”, “Real” and “Rhythm of Love”. A Billboards spokesman stated it is extremely rare for a band to have four songs amongst the finalists.
The first single from Supernova, REAL, has won it’s 26th award, being named Track of the Week at Garageband for the third time. The song is has been in the Garageband Top-10 for over a year in both the Pop and World categories. Real will be featured as Track of the Week from April 10th thru April 17th.
Liquid Blue hits the road once again on April 8th for the bands biggest ever tour, visiting 26 countries, mostly in Europe. Included are the UK, Belgium, Netherlands, Greece, Italy, Spain, France, Portugal and many others. The band will visit 11 of these countries for the first time as well as 25 new cities.
it’s been 3 years but the band has released a DVD of their spectacular shows in the fall of 2002 in Dalian, China, at People’s Stadium. The show was a sell-out and attended by over 65,000 fans as part of the Dalian International Fashion Festival. This concert was broadcast on CCTV to an estimated 50 million viewers. The DVD is not for sale in the USA. This DVD will debut on March 26th during the band’s 10th Anniversary Celebration at La Paloma Theater in Encinitas.
The band’s recent tour of Asia has been captured on this concert DVD recorded at the Minhang Arena in Shanghai, China, Nov 2005. The band performed two sell-out shows in the 5000 seat Minhang Arena. The footage is spectacular. Tracks includes most of Supernova, plus four Chinese songs. This DVD will debut on March 26th during the band’s 10th Anniversary Celebration at La Paloma Theater in Encinitas.
December 31st, 2005 marked the band’s official 10 year anniversary which will be celebrated on Sunday, March 26th from 12 noon to 6:00 pm at the historic La Paloma Theater in Encinitas. It will feature photo and video highlights from the band’s 10 years and travels to 68 countries. Nathan Morrison from the Jon Elliott Radio Show will host & MC the event.

San Diego’s Petco Park is the host of the historic first WBC championship game, which will feature Cuba vs. Japan as well as a pre-game performance by Liquid Blue. This is a private event and the game is sold-out.
Former BlueGirl will do her 2nd show as a solo artist at Room 5 in Hollywood on Wed, March 15th. BC is managed by Patti McGuire, formerly of RCA records and is a student of legendary vocal coach Seth Riggs. BC’s first show was last month at the Knitting Factory. BC was a member of Liquid Blue in 2003. She has since done several TV appearances but is now writing and recording music for her debut album. Stay tuned.
Former BlueGirl Miz Mandy will hold her CD debut party at the Belly Up Tavern in Solana Beach on Monday, March 6th from 6:00-10:00. The CD is called Mandatory and is now available. This is the first show for Mandy and her new band. She started with Liquid Blue back in 2000 and was one of the original BlueGirls.
Liquid Blue will debut the new “Real” music video on Saturday, March 4th at the Party For Progressives held in Balboa Park, San Diego. Real was the bands 1st single and biggest hit to date, reaching #4 on the NMW Hot A/C chart in March of 2005. The video is actually not completely finished but will be shown for the first time before a live audience at this event. Final editing should be completed in time for the bands 10th anniversary meeting later in the month.
Liquid Blue will entertain at the 4th Annual Party For Progressives held at Balboa Park in San Diego. Cindy Sheehan is the keynote speaker at the event, which is one of San Diego’s largest annual gathering of progressives.

Liquid Blue has completed a new promotional video, the first one since 2001. The video includes footage from several concerts including spectacular sell-out shows in China.
Renowned ocean environmental artist Wyland has released a new DVD chronicling his quest of creating 100 whaling walls around the world to bring attention to the fragile ocean environment. The DVD features some great music including Liquid Blue’s song Rescue from the Supernova album.
