Rescue was an “Honor Award” winner in the 6th Annual Great American Song Contest.
The Yamaha International Music Production Contest has announced their selections for semi-finalists for 2005. There were over 1000 songs entered in the contest and 45 were chosen as semi-finalists. Pretend was chosen in the rock category and Real was chosen in the category of Film Scoring/Orchestra/World. The judges included Randy Jackson (American Idol & 1000 gold albums), producer Don Davis (the Matrix, titanic), producer Justin Stanley, DJ Rap & Fourplay (Grammy Award winning jazz group). Liquid Blue was the only group to have 2 songs chosen. There are 50,000 worth of prizes to be awarded. Winner will be announced soon.

ust minutes before the BlueGirls were to sing the National Anthem for the San Diego Surf Dawgs minor league baseball game at Tony Gwynn Stadium, future hall of famer Rickey Henderson stopped by to greet the band. Rickey is truly the greatest lead-off hitter of all-time. His accomplishments are staggering: #1 ALL-TIME in runs scored, #1 ALL-TIME in stolen bases, #1 ALL-TIME in walks, #1 ALL-TIME in lead-off home runs. “If You Gotta Ask” has won the Artists Helping Artists (AHA) 2005 juried international song contest in the category of Spirit and Creative Force. This is the 4th major contest award for the song.
Rescue received an Honorable Mention award from LyricAward.com in their March 2005 Global Lyrics & Poetry Contest. Their motto is “Changing the World With Words”.
So Close To Heaven is featured at Garageband.com as Track of the Week in the World Fusion category. 13 of Supernova’s 14 songs have won awards to date.
Liquid Blue will take the stage for their 1000th performance on May 9th in Cabo San Lucas. The band, in it’s many incarnations, has been performing since 1996. Guitarist Michael Vangerov and vocalist Scott Stephens have been there for all of them and vocalist Nikki Green for most. Later this year on December 31st, the band will celebrate their 10th anniversary.
The rising popularity of Liquid Blue is evidenced by the bands soaring web statistics. The site is averaging over 8000 hits PER DAY and over 200,000 per month. Liquid-Blue.com had over 1.5 million hits in 2004. The web site is ranked “4” currently at Google, which is a very high rank for a band site, which is typically a “1” or “2”. Supernova will be distributed in all 1200 Target store in the USA, starting April 15th. The CD will be specially featured with 25 other independent artists in the “America’s Best Independent Artist” display.
The Music For Peace Project will sponsor Liquid Blue’s April 9th concert in Limon, Costa Rica as the band dedicates this show towards peace along with hundreds of other artists around the world who will simultaneously hold “Music For Peace” concerts.
The band is back out on the road from March 28th to May 12th; this time touring Central America including several stops in Mexico, Costa Rica, Belize, Panama and the Cayman Islands.
