Baja Knights Annual Gala Presents Sammy Hagar w/
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
San Diego, California – Red Rocker Sammy Hagar will join San Diego’s own Liquid Blue on stage for the Baja Knights Annual Auction & Gala taking place at The Bishop’s School in La Jolla CA on Saturday, April 20th.
Hagar, the man who won’t drive 55, member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Grammy winner and former Van Halen front man, is currently embarking on his fourth platinum project with Chickenfoot. He picked local rockers Liquid Blue to back him at this San Diego Fundraiser and will perform some of his biggest hits from Van Halen; his solo career and even his first group, Montrose. Following Sammy’s performance, Liquid Blue will continue to perform with an additional set of music.
Liquid Blue and its founder Scott Stephens have had some history with the Red Rocker: Stephens interviewed him back in 1979 and published the feature in his Raw Power Magazine. In June of 2011 Liquid Blue played at Sammy’s Cabo Wabo night club in Baja CA and the band also opened a show for Hagar at the MGM Grand Arena in November of the same year.
Liquid Blue is based in San Diego and was recently named Entertainment Act of the Year at the Biz Bash Readers Choice Awards. The group has performed in over 500 cities in more than 100 countries in their 18 year history. While their show usually features mostly popular covers, the band reached the number 3 position on the Billboard Dance Chart in 2010 with their single, Earth Passport.
“Baja Knights” will raise money for the school’s need-based student financial aid and faculty professional growth programs.
Tickets for this event start at $400 and are available through the school’s advancement office at (858) 875-0804.
