Liquid Blue has been awarded "runner-up" in the Best Band category of the International Music Awards sponsored by The Music Aid Organization, in association with the United Nations UNV program. Winners were selected from thousands of artists in over 20 countries. The band will receive a gold disc award and be featured on the International Music Awards winners compilation CD. Also the song REAL was the WINNER in the Best Production category. Real was produced by David DeVore and Joe Chicarelli.
Britney Spears, Anthony Kedis (Chili Peppers), Andy Garcia, John McEnroe, Jack Nickolson and others were on hand at Staples Center as the BlueGirls sang the Star Spangled Banner for the Los Angeles Lakers, Washington Wizards game on Sunday, Dec 17th. The trio featured Nikki Green, Kristen Kelly and Silvia Duga. The game was won by the Wizards in overtime and featured a franchise record 60 points by Wizard star Gilbert Arenas.
Liquid Blue performed at the wedding of golf sensation (and cover girl) Cristie Kerr & Eric Stevens (formerly Madonna's personal trainer) on Sat, Dec 9th at the Mirabel Golf Resort in Scottsdale. Many of the world's highest ranking female golfers were in attendance. Those on the guest list included Rob Lowe, Donald Trump and others.

The Liquid Blue duo of Michael Vangerov and Scott Stephens performed at the Mecca Club in Prague, Czech Republic with the legendary London DJ Lisa Loud on Nov 16th. Club Mecca is the #1 night club in the Czech Republic. Lisa Loud has had a phenomenal career that has spanned 15 years and she is widely revered and admired as one of the world's top female DJs.
Liquid Blue will head back to Europe in November for an all acoustic tour featuring Michael Vangerov and Scott Stephens (Liquid 2). The band will tour eight (8) countries including Switzerland, Austria, Czech Republic, Poland, Hungary, Slovakia, Liechtenstein and Luxembourg. In the past few years Liquid Blue has toured 36 European countries, spending almost as much time in Europe as in the USA. This time it's completely unplugged.
Hornblower Yachts have launched a brand new ship, "The Inspiration" and Liquid Blue will be aboard for it's very first event, the 232nd Marine Corp Birthday Ball. The band will feature all SIX BlueGirls; performing with a total of 10 members. The Inspiration holds 1200 passengers and is the largest ship in the Hornblower Fleet.
The song "Let The Music Move You" will be featured in the upcoming independent film, Supermodels, which is should premiere in January. The song was on a EP and released exclusively in China back in 2001. More information on screenings to be posted soon.
Liquid Blue will perform a private show at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino on Oct 25th and Nov 8th. The band has performed in Vegas at least once every year since 2000 including 7 Vegas casinos.
Liquid Blue and country star Billy Dean performed to a capacity crowd (1600) at 4th & B on Saturday night. Billy joined the band on stage for two song and performed an acoustic set in-between Liquid Blue's two sets. Billy Dean won a Grammy Award in 1996 and has had several Top-10 country hits including "Billy the Kid" and "Somewhere in My Broken Heart".
A painting that features Liquid Blue on the marquee of the La Paloma Theater in Encinitas, CA was recently sold at an auction for $350. The artist is Neil Glasgow from San Dieguito Academy. Liquid Blue was holding a 10th Anniversary/1000 shows celebration at the La Paloma on the day Neil painted the scene.
FM 94.9 DJ Midori recorded station ID spots for Liquid Blue Radio on Live365 this week. Midori hosts "Big Sonic Chill" on San Diego's popular alternative rock station, FM 94.9. Liquid Blue Radio plays intelligent, socially conscious music and is owned and operated by Liquid Blue, Inc. and broadcast on Live365 via the internet.
Liquid Blue headlined "Rally Monday" at Petco Park on Monday, October 2nd. An estimated 5500 Fans celebrated the Padres success and playoff berth in the 2006 season. The event was a Major League Baseball kick-off for the playoffs and San Diego had the largest Rally Monday crowd in the country. The event featured current and past Padre players and was carried on live TV by Channel 4.
Nikki Green will perform a 30 minute set at the Moon Festival held at the famous Pasadena Civic Auditorium on Sept 30th. Nikki will represent Liquid Blue who have a prior engagement the same night in San Diego. Several acclaimed Chinese performers are on the bill including "Musicat", nine Chinese girls who play Chinese pipa, bamboo flute, guzheng together with violin and cello on a selection of modern, mostly pop, tunes. Winners of Chinese Idol will also perform. Tickets are now on sale at Ticketmaster and range from $26 to $126
Liquid Blue (shown with KUSI's Kimberly Hunt) rocked the Atlas Ballroom at the Town & Country Hotel in a star-stutted fundraiser event sponsored by "The Nice Guys". BlueGirls Alex, Kristen and Layla led the band as Nikki Green was representing Liquid Blue at the Pasadena Civic Theater.
The BlueGirls (Nikki, Layla & Kristen) sang the National Anthem for the San Diego Chargers sold-out home opener at Qualcomm Stadium. Liquid Blue performs on the main state at 4:00 on Sunday, Sept 10th at the Fiesta Del Barrio in Carlsbad CA. Other acts include The Last Revival and Los Pistoleros.

The 13th Billboard World Song Contest has selected four songs from Liquid Blue's Supernova LP for honorable mention. The songs chosen are "If You Gotta Ask", "So Close To Heaven", "Real" and "Rhythm of Love". A Billboards spokesman stated it is extremely rare for a band to have four songs amongst the finalists.
"Rescue" has received honorable mention in the "We Are Listening" 2006 Singer/Songwriter Awards. The song has won several other awards and been featured on three compilations.
Wisdom Chain, the 'hidden track' from Supernova, has been selected as Track of the Week from May 8th to the 15th. This is the 15th song from Supernova to win an award (out of 15). Wisdom Chain was a featured track on the PCT Music release of Supernova but tucked away as a hidden track on the original release.
Making Up finished 2nd among almost 500 entries in the first ever Peacedriven songwriting contest. From the Peacedriven website: "Other leading finalists included the Grammy-nominated Nadirah Shakoor, former lead singer of the hip-hop group Arrested Development. Her song “Break Away” encourages an end to child abuse. Award-winning California pop group Liquid Blue was also a standout with its song “Making Up” urging an end to global conflicts like Israel and Palestine."
Liquid Blue hits the road once again on April 8th for the bands biggest ever tour, visiting 26 countries, mostly in Europe. Included are the UK, Belgium, Netherlands, Greece, Italy, Spain, France, Portugal and many others. The band will visit 11 of these countries for the first time as well as 25 new cities.
The first single from Supernova, REAL, has won it's 26th award, being named Track of the Week at Garageband for the third time. The song is has been in the Garageband Top-10 for over a year in both the Pop and World categories. Real will be featured as Track of the Week from April 10th thru April 17th.

December 31st, 2005 marked the band's official 10 year anniversary which will be celebrated on Sunday, March 26th from 12 noon to 6:00 pm at the historic La Paloma Theater in Encinitas. It will feature photo and video highlights from the band's 10 years and travels to 68 countries. Nathan Morrison from the Jon Elliott Radio Show will host & MC the event.

The band's recent tour of Asia has been captured on this concert DVD recorded at the Minhang Arena in Shanghai, China, Nov 2005. The band performed two sell-out shows in the 5000 seat Minhang Arena. The footage is spectacular. Tracks includes most of Supernova, plus four Chinese songs. This DVD will debut on March 26th during the band's 10th Anniversary Celebration at La Paloma Theater in Encinitas.
San Diego's Petco Park is the host of the historic first WBC championship game, which will feature Cuba vs. Japan as well as a pre-game performance by Liquid Blue. This is a private event and the game is sold-out. More info.
it's been 3 years but the band has released a DVD of their spectacular shows in the fall of 2002 in Dalian, China, at People's Stadium. The show was a sell-out and attended by over 65,000 fans as part of the Dalian International Fashion Festival. This concert was broadcast on CCTV to an estimated 50 million viewers. The DVD is not for sale in the USA. This DVD will debut on March 26th during the band's 10th Anniversary Celebration at La Paloma Theater in Encinitas.
Former BlueGirl will do her 2nd show as a solo artist at Room 5 in Hollywood on Wed, March 15th. BC is managed by Patti McGuire, formerly of RCA records and is a student of legendary vocal coach Seth Riggs. BC's first show was last month at the Knitting Factory. BC was a member of Liquid Blue in 2003. She has since done several TV appearances but is now writing and recording music for her debut album. Stay tuned.
Former BlueGirl Miz Mandy will hold her CD debut party at the Belly Up Tavern in Solana Beach on Monday, March 6th from 6:00-10:00. The CD is called Mandatory and is now available. This is the first show for Mandy and her new band. She started with Liquid Blue back in 2000 and was one of the original BlueGirls.
Liquid Blue will debut the new "Real" music video on Saturday, March 4th at the Party For Progressives held in Balboa Park, San Diego. Real was the bands 1st single and biggest hit to date, reaching #4 on the NMW Hot A/C chart in March of 2005. The video is actually not completely finished but will be shown for the first time before a live audience at this event. Final editing should be completed in time for the bands 10th anniversary meeting later in the month.
Renowned ocean environmental artist Wyland has released a new DVD chronicling his quest of creating 100 whaling walls around the world to bring attention to the fragile ocean environment. The DVD features some great music including Liquid Blue's song Rescue from the Supernova album.

Liquid Blue's appearance on the popular TV news show Inside Southern California, hosted by Lynn Harper will air on Feb 6th at 7:30 pm, Feb 7th at 5:00 pm, Feb 27th at 7:30 and Feb 28th at 5:00. The band will make two public appearances in Ski Resort areas this winter. The first is at Whiskey Creek in Mammoth Mountain CA, Jan 13-15. The 2nd is a Chad's Place in Big Bear Lake, Feb 3rd & 4th.
LiquidBlue.net was visited by 20,000 different people in January, 2006. The Liquid Blue site is one of the most popular indie web sites. Contributing to the large numbers is the band's busy touring schedule.
At the Garden you never know who you'll meet. As the BlueGirls prepared backstage for their Garden performance, the NFL's premiere running back, LaDainian Tomlinson, stopped by to say hello. Scott also met Spike Lee. The girls also went clubbing with the Knick City Dancers after the game.
The BlueGirls will appear at Madison Square Garden on January 27th in New York City for a Knicks game. They'll also perform at Staples Center for the NBA's Los Angeles Lakers and Clippers and at Arrowhead Pond for the Anaheim Mighty Ducks of the NHL. To top it off the girls will sing for the Boston Celtics at their new arena, the Fleet Center in Boston on January 25th. To conclude the east coast week the band will perform at private show for the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame.
Real, a song that has now won 26 different awards, has hit number one on the Garageband World Chart on Jan 17th, 2006. The song is one of the highest ranking songs ever at Garageband and has been in the top-10 since it's release in 2004. A new video will soon be released for the song.
If You Gotta Ask has been selected as a finailst in the WRA (William Robert Abate) song competition for 2006. The WRA Song Competition selects songs that promote peace, love, community, and/or speak out against violence, war or hate. Founded in 1993, in conjunction with the Oberlin Conservatory of Music, the original William Robert Abate Competition awards gifted artist for their achievements.
